Our Story

Gladstone Central Physio and Acupuncture was founded by local couple Elizabeth and Stu Orr in 2023.

Stu and Elizabeth met in New Zealand on their first day of University studying Physiotherapy.  On graduating in 1995 they married, and both later returned to University to add post graduate study in musculoskeletal and acupuncture to their tool belts.

Together they have co-owned and operated three practices in New Zealand (including one gym).  They have also lived and worked abroad in New Orleans, Louisiana and British Columbia.

In 2005, after the birth of the first of three children, Elizabeth and Stu moved to Gladstone, and currently live in Calliope with their now teenage children.  During their time in Gladstone, Stu has worked for Queensland Health and Elizabeth started Elizabeth Orr – Physiotherapy and Acupuncture which operated in many sites across Gladstone with a strong repeat client base.

With 29 years postgraduate experience each, Elizabeth and Stu feel honoured to provide honest healthcare to Gladstone – returning to their roots of working together side-by-side in their new practice, Gladstone Central Physio and Acupuncture.
